North Carolina Skiing

Many people are familiar with the snow skiing regions in Colorado, Wyoming, and Vermont, however many do not realize that in North Carolina skiing is on the rise. There are several North Carolina ski regions and excellent snow skiing can be found.

North Carolina skiing areas like Beech Mountain Resort, Sugar Mountain Resort, Hawksnest Ski Resort and Appalachian Ski Mountain are all located in the High Country of North Carolina near Boone NC and Banner Elk NC. These NC ski resorts offer snow skiing, snowboarding, tubing and two, Beech and Appalachian, offer ice skating. Cataloochie Ski Resort, Wolf Laurel Ski Resort and Scaly Mountain are also great ski areas in North Carolina, however they are not located in the High Country.  Scaly Mountain also only offers tubing runs.
