324 Rough Ridge

This is our second time staying in this cabin. It does work well for two families and is close to skiing/Sugar Mountain. Overall, the bedrooms, living space, and parking are all good. The kitchen table needs to be bigger for the number of people that can stay in the cabin. The entire place -including the hot tub- could use a good deep cleaning. Overall, everything was okay, but not amazing.

Overall, 324 Rough Ridge was a great location. We enjoyed the hot tub and proximity to the ski slopes and Banner Elk. The house can sleep 10 but only had enough places to eat for six people, which was kind of an issue. Also, the property could use a good deep clean to get rid of spider webs and dust bunnies missed in the day-to-day cleaning. Sheets, towels, beds, and bathrooms were all clean. Comfy beds!

Our cozy log cabin rental on Sugar Mountain was wonderful. The cabin was very comfortable and clean for the 6 of us (4 adults and 2 kids). Everything worked and provided what we needed. Our only concerns were the pots and pans should be replaced, need more dining chairs, and the firepit area needs attention. The cabin location was great and had ample parking. We had our small dog with us and she did great. The spacious deck had a gate on it so she could check out the outside and be safe. We used the hot tub once and it was nice and enjoyable. This cabin was nestled in a wooded area and did not have views. But that's why you go hiking and exploring in this beautiful part of our country.

Overall the house was a very good set up for our family. The property manager does need to tighten up some things though - there is a lot of trash, beer cans, gatorade bottles, etc in the landscaping and the woods around the house - I think you can count 6 - 8 Bud Light bottles while sitting in the hot tub. The pillows on the beds are the thinnest pillows to sleep on that I have ever seen - they definitely need new pillows - there were 2 pillows out of the 10 - 12 that were OK and the rest were still thin if you took 2 at a time. Dusting of the cobwebs in the house would be a quick fix. Ice maker in the refrigerator doesn't work. The house should have a pack and play for families - just in one of the closets. The property management company called me saying the house was ready, I showed up at 3:40 and the house wasn't ready - they told me to come back - check in is at 4 - I was only 20 minutes early and after they called to say it was ready... Finding a place with lots of individual beds is tough. The 2 bunks and daybed + trundle in this one really fits the bill for 6 single people. It's big, modern, clean, and has a nice hot tub. Kitchen/Living room area is great to cook/gather with wifi and large TV. Everything is here. Bit pricey will all the extra fees but with 10 people sharing the cost it's still reasonable. Minor issues are that shower drains need cleaning as one took over 20 minutes to drain, and the washer/dryer units are tiny. We adapted, but these issues should be improved - 10 people needing to do their wash using those tiny machines is painful. Also, for the cost you pay, it would be nice to have some detergent on hand to use, like there were dishwashing packets available - just an extra perk that would go a long way.

We stayed in this lovely home for another summer in 2021. Nicely equipped all around, including in the kitchen. Enjoyed sitting on the covered porch and getting into the hot tub regularly. The house is very private. A few negatives - the living room furniture was uncomfortable for us as senior citizens (so we brought our own folding chairs) and the hot tub was out of commission for 10 days or so (they had to order part but finally fixed). Overall very good service from our rental agency and we would rent this property again!

The cabin was nice and had everything we needed for our stay. The one complaint I would have is that it needed to be dusted from top to bottom. The ceiling fans, behind the furniture, under the beds and couches, everywhere.

Place was very clean when we arrived. Exactly as described. Lots of info in the welcome packet and location is perfect. Would definitely recommend 4WD if it's snowing but wasn't the case for us. Only had brief interactions with the staff but it was always pleasant. Would definitely recommend!

This was a cool house. The loft was a nice touch.

And the hot tub was great - covered when it rains and serviced weekly to maintain cleanliness. A covered porch on the opposite side form the hot tub was very nice with comfortable seating and a fire table. The one downside was that the beautiful yard was not kept up the way we would have liked. But overall, a wonderful place and we are planning on returning next year!

Very nice cabin was not very clean and know that its animal friendly but there was alot of dog hair on bedcovers
